The Big Clean - the massive clean up campaign
where you tell us what pieces of land you want to shine - is back
for 2010! We’ve teamed up with the Rochdale Observer,
Middleton Guardian and Heywood Advertiser to make your area
shine – and we want your ideas so we can make a real
difference to where you live.
This year’s Big Clean is going to be bigger
and better than ever before! We've again put an extra £100,000
towards tidying up the borough – so it’s up to you how you see that
money being spent and where. The more prominent and better known
the land you’re nominating is the better so we can make your town
gleam with pride!
Get your ideas in - by 27 January!
Your ideas can be just about anything that involves transforming
a piece of land into a place we can all be proud of. It could be a
simple tidy up of a piece of land strewn with litter, landscaping
an overgrown piece of scrubland, or improving land to create a
place for your children to play. Whatever your idea – the more
creative it is the better!
The deadline for your ideas is 27 January – so
you need to get your skates on!
Leader of Rochdale Borough Council, Councillor Irene Davidson,
said: “For me, the Big Clean marks a really exciting time in the
council’s campaign calendar. What’s great about it is that it’s
local people who are telling the council what they want to see
improved in their area.
“This is a great opportunity for you to tell
the council what improvements you want to see on your street, in
your village, or anywhere else in the borough. This is a
really exciting project to be involved in – and I can’t wait to see
what ideas we get in.”
Nominate a piece of land - and make a real difference to your
area
Completing the Big Clean tidy up ideas form should only take a
couple minutes – but you could make a huge difference to your area
by filling it in!
That’s all there is to it! Just make sure you
complete the form by 27 January for your
nomination to be considered for a Big Clean.
