Housing partner appoints new Chief Executive

Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH) who manage council homes on
our behalf have appointed Gareth Swarbrick as their new Chief
Executive.
For the last 18 months Gareth has been the organisation’s Acting
Managing Director following the retirement of Paul Neate in April
2007. Between 2002 and 2007 he was
RBH
’s Business Support
Director and he was worked in Rochdale since 1992.
Born in Bolton, Gareth lived in Milnrow as a child and attended
St Thomas’s Infant School in Newhey before his family moved to
Oldham. A graduate of the University of Leeds he has worked in
housing since 1989.
Gareth said:
"I am absolutely delighted to have been offered the opportunity
to become
RBH
’s
Chief Executive and I am really looking forward to working with the
Board, tenants, and councillors and officers from Rochdale Borough
Council to deliver further improvements in the housing service and
to ensure that
RBH
plays a full part in the
regeneration of the borough.”
Andy Zuntz, Rochdale Borough Council’s Executive Director
said:
“The council is delighted with Gareth’s appointment and is
looking forward to working closely and productively with
RBH
to improve
the quality of life for tenants and residents across the
borough.”
Gareth was appointed by the board of
RBH
following a selection and
interview process which also involved representatives from the
council.

take
RBH
forward
and to help us make a real difference to communities in the
borough. The post was very widely advertised and we used
professional head hunters to search for the strongest candidates
and to help us assess them. Gareth was selected from a very strong
field.”
