Council Strike - Essential Information

The national strike by some council workers on Wednesday 16 July
and Thursday 17 July 2008 will see disruption to some services
although we are making every effort to maintain services where
possible.
- The majority of schools in the borough will remain open during
the strike, although parents are asked to contact the school
directly for more details.
- Services for vulnerable people should continue to operate as
usual – the emergency number is 0845 121 2975.
- There will be no normal household waste collections on the
strike days. Collections of household waste will take place on
Saturday 19 July 2008. Recycling and garden waste services will not
operate but will resume again as normal after the strike
action.
- All customer service centres and libraries will be closed.
Although the contact centre will be open, it may take longer to
answer your calls than usual.
