Employment and training initiatives
We are the largest provider of training for young people and
adults in the Borough and are supported by over 400 local
employers. Training is offered to both unemployed and employed
young people aged 16 - 24.
Training available includes:
- Modern apprenticeships leading to NVQ levels 2 and 3.
The majority of programmes are fully funded through the Greater
Manchester Learning and Skills Council.
Our links with local employers enable us to offer young people a
variety of opportunities to access both training and
employment.
Our supportive staff will support you through all stages of your
training programme and ensure that you are given every opportunity
to achieve your goals.
All apprenticeships are work-based.
Learners are either employed, or initially on placement with an
employer and receive a training allowance. For Childcare, there are
weekly training sessions at either at our centre or at a local
private nursery. Construction and Motor Vehicle Apprentices
attend one day per week at college. Other
Apprenticeships include:
- Business Administration
- Customer Service
- I.T.
- Hairdressing
all of which are assessed in the workplace with periodic
training sessions at our centre.
E2E Learners
Pre-Apprenticeship trainees attend our centre and receive a
training allowance. E2E allows young people to have tasters/work
experience in different types of work.
