Rochdale Home Improvement Agency delivers a range of practical
services such as home repair assistance, Handyperson
scheme and support services such as benefits advice, financial
information and other related advice.

Handyperson scheme
The Handyperson scheme can offer help to carry out a wide range
of minor household repairs. The scheme is split into the
following four main work types:
- Disrepair (minor repairs) - for example, leaking
gutters, replacing tap washers
- Crime prevention (home security) - for example, door
locks, chains, window locks, security lights
- Accident prevention (home
safety) - for example, loose floorboards,
trailing cables
- Energy efficiency - for example, draught proofing of
windows and doors, tank lagging
- Painting, decorating and gardening are not included within the
scheme
Cost
Labour is provided free of charge. In most cases customers will
only pay for materials (there is no charge for crime prevention
measures for example, door locks, chains).

- To help clients remain independent within their own homes
- Provide help and advice with property maintenance and repairs
to people aged 60 or over, disabled people and other vulnerable
groups
