Community and day centres
Day Care
Day care gives you the chance to go out for a while during the
day, get extra support and meet people. It is also a break for
anyone who helps look after you.
Council-run day centres provide a range of day care with
services like meals, occupational therapy, leisure activities,
advice, hairdressing and chiropody. If you can’t get to a centre
yourself, we can arrange a special bus to and from a centre.
The Woodclough Day Centre covers the Middleton area and the
Ronald Gorton Day Centre covers the rest of Rochdale. The Council
also funds a number of day care services to help meet the needs of
Asian elders. These services are provided by Age Concern, the Apna
Ghar Centre, the Bangladeshi Association Community Project and the
Pakistan Welfare Association.
A more limited range of day care services are also available at
some of the Council's homes for older people.
