Disabled people - bus passes
A scheme run by
GMPTE
in
Greater Manchester allows people with disabilities to travel on
public transport free or at a reduced rate. You may be
eligible if you:
- Have severe walking difficulties
- Are registered partially sighted
- Are profoundly or severely deaf
- Have been or would be refused a driving licence for medical
reasons.
There are other conditions for each kind of pass. These are
explained on the application form, which you can get at social
services township offices, council customer service centres or
your local

Interpreters
We can arrange an interpreter for people whose first language is
not English or a sign language interpreter for people who are deaf
or hard of hearing.
Emergency help out of office hours
If you need urgent help at weekends or after 4.45pm or before
8.30am on weekdays, phone 0845 121 2975 for the number of
Emergency Social Work Team. At other times, contact your adult or
children's social care service office and ask for the duty
officer.
