Older person's bus pass
If you are 60 or over, you can travel for free on buses, trains
and Metrolink trams in Greater Manchester between 9.30am and
midnight Monday to Friday, and all day at weekends and bank
holidays.
Before 9.30am, you still pay the current standard low fare.
You can travel for free or for the low fare on buses, local
trains and Metrolink trams in Greater Manchester if you:
- Live in Greater Manchester
- Are 60 or over and have a
GMPTE
permit for people over 60
How to apply
To apply for a new travel permit or a replacement, get an
application form from your a customer service centre or from a
GMPTE
Travelshop located in the bus stations at Altrincham, Ashton,
Bolton, Bury, Eccles, Hyde, Leigh, Middleton, Oldham, Manchester
Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester Shudehill, Rochdale, Stockport,
Wigan or Wythenshawe.

You will need to take:
- One passport-sized photograph (25 millimetres x 30
millimetres)
- Proof of your age, for example, your pension book or birth
certificate
- Proof of where you live, for example, your rent book or a
Council Tax, gas or electricity bill.
