We run a number of different groups across the borough for crochet, cross-stitch, knitting, embroidery and more.

Booking information - you don't need to book to attend any of the groups listed on this page. Just turn up on the day and get stuck in.

Materials for the groups - you'll need to bring all the relevant materials with you as we aren't able to provide any at the library.

Crochet Group at Littleborough Library

Date and time: every Monday, 10.30am-12.30pm.

Everyone is welcome to join our crochet group. It's open to all adults whether young or old, beginner or expert. Other members will happily teach you how to get started and teach you how to crochet.

Knit and natter at Alkrington Library

Date and time: every other Monday, 2pm-3.30pm.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or an avid knitter, bring along your wool and your needles and enjoy a cup of tea with our lovely group. All ages are welcome.

Date and time: every Friday, 2pm-3pm.

Meet new people, enjoy a cup of tea and have a chat while knitting. All ages are welcome and it doesn't whether you're a complete beginner or an avid knitter.

Date and time:

  • Group 1 - every Monday, 5pm-7pm.
  • Group 2 - every Thursday, 2pm-4pm.

Join one of our friendly groups. We range from beginners to experienced knitters. We help each other, give advice and share patterns. Refreshments are provided for a small contribution and new members are always welcome.

Knitting group at Smallbridge Library

Date and time: every Tuesday, 10am-12noon.

Everyone is welcome at this fun and friendly knitting and crocheting group. Suitable for people with experience or anyone wanting to learn in the comfort of the library.

Rochdale in stitches at Spotland Library

Date and time: 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month, 10am-12noon.

A stitching group for people who enjoy cross-stitch, embroidery, needlepoint or who would like to start. Come along for a chat and enjoy sharing skills and talents in a friendly relaxed atmosphere over refreshments.

Stitch and chat at Spotland Library

At stitch and chat, you can talk to other like minded people and have a drink while you do your needlework. You're welcome to bring any type, for example cross-stitch, knitting or crochet.

The Cast Offs at Castleton Library

Whether you're a complete beginner or an avid knitter, come along to our knitting group. All ages are welcome. You'll get to meet new people, enjoy a cup of tea and chat while knitting.
