Delivered in the UK by Good Things Foundation since 2007, Get Online Week is the UK’s biggest digital inclusion campaign.
More than 11 years ago, a date in October was first marked out to bring digital inclusion to national attention in the UK - and Get Online Week was born. Since then the campaign has grown into a week-long, annual celebration, with thousands of events taking place each year in communities across the UK, giving everyone the chance to find the help they need to improve their digital skills.
In 2018 there are still 4.3 million people in the UK with no Basic Digital Skills and 11.3 million people have only limited abilities online!
This year’s Get Online Week 2018 will give all of these people the opportunity to Try 1 Thing - do just one new thing online as a next step to improving their digital skills.
Libraries across the borough throughout this week are offering a variety of taster sessions including Exploring your Digital Library, Digital Skills for Jobs and First Steps to Getting Online to help you on your way to #Try1Thing!
This is a drop in session, so just come along on the day
