Regeneration
Rochdale Town Centre is being transformed. We are creating a
town centre with fantastic leisure, shopping, cultural and learning
opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy. Consultation has
been taking place on how you would like your new town centre to
look.
Over the next 15 years Rochdale will undergo a radical scale of
regeneration guided by the Masterplan which will transform the
borough into a thriving place to live, work and do business.
Metrolink is one of the most successful light rail systems in
the UK, carrying nearly 20 million passengers every year and from
2012, Rochdale will be part of it.
The Middleton Spatial Masterplan builds on recent achievements,
such as the new bus station and the extension to Middleton Shopping
Centre, and provides opportunities for further improvements.
Kingsway is a £315m business focused,
mixed use development park of 170 hectare (420 acre) and is
located adjacent to and with direct access onto the M62 at Junction
21.
