Regeneration
Rochdale town centre is about to be
transformed with millions of pounds of new investment. This is all
happening in the Town Centre East area, between Yorkshire Street
and the river. The existing bus station, multi storey car park and
Municipal Offices are going to be replaced by new shops, cafés,
leisure facilities, housing, a new bus station, new Council
offices, a Metrolink terminus and lots more.
Over the next 15 years Rochdale will undergo a radical scale of
regeneration guided by the Masterplan which will transform the
borough into a thriving place to live, work and do business.
The Middleton Spatial Masterplan builds on recent achievements,
such as the new bus station and the extension to Middleton Shopping
Centre, and provides opportunities for further improvements.
Kingsway is a £315m business focused,
mixed use development park of 170 hectare (420 acre) and is
located adjacent to and with direct access onto the M62 at Junction
21.
We are committed to transforming the borough of Rochdale into a
thriving place to live, work and do business.
In April 2009 Manchester and Leeds City Regions were selected as
the 2 pilot statutory city regions. Find out what this means for
