Before you request a bulky household collection why not think about donating it to a charity shop or see if anyone can make use of it. Type 'Freecycle' or 'Freeuse' into your favourite search engine and see if anyone locally can make use of your bulky refuse.

If we collect your bulky waste items, please note they will not be reused or recycling and will go straight to landfill.

Our three household waste disposal sites

You can take bulky refuse to one of the three household waste recycling centres (tips) at Peel Lane in Heywood, Springvale in Middleton or Chichester St (Waithlands) in Rochdale. Please note that vehicles over 6'1'' high will not be able to access any of these sites.

Request a bulky waste collection

If you can't take your bulky refuse to one of the three household waste sites above, you can request a bulky waste collection by the council by completing our online bulky refuse collection form. Or you can visit any of our Customer Service Centres or call 0845 226 1800 to make a booking or if you've got a query.

We use an appointment system and let you know the date we will collect your waste items.

When we collect

Our crew will collect the items you've told us need collecting within 10 working days. Items for collection must be left outside at the front of your home (if possible) by 7am, but still keep them on your property if possible.
