Funeral - low cost
We are now able to provide a low-cost dignified funeral
service available to anyone who has to arrange for the funeral of a
deceased resident of the borough, who is to be cremated either at
Rochdale or Middleton Crematorium or buried at one of the Rochdale
borough cemeteries. (Non-residents may benefit from the service but
may incur additional costs.)
Included in the service
- Collection of the deceased from within the borough or within 10
miles radius of the borough boundary within normal working
hours.
- The Officiating Minister
- Doctors for completion of cremation certificates where
appropriate
- Cremation fee or re-opening fee for an existing private
grave.
Cost
The cost of the Cremation service is £1357 (cremation of an
adult resident or non-resident of the borough).
The cost of the Burial service is £1404 (burial of an adult
resident of the borough in an existing private grave).
Both of the above prices are inclusive of the disbursements
listed above. Please note that the above charges may be subject to
change.
Additional services
Where a family desires additional services to those listed above
there will he an extra charge. Circumstances where additional
charges may be incurred include the following:
- The purchase of a new grave in the cemetery
- The use of either the Minister's chapel or the cemetery
chapel
- The burial of a nonresident of the borough
- Press notices. Floral Tributes. Memorialisation
- Additional limousines or hearses and additional journeys
- Any work or services provided at evenings, weekends or Bank
Holidays

We are able to provide this service as we
have negotiated a competitive tender with an established and
respected local firm of Funeral Directors who have agreed to
provide a low-cost dignified funeral service:

The funeral service will be indistinguishable from any other
funeral service arranged by the company.

If you wish to use the service, please ring the Funeral Director
at Frank Brierley Funeral Service on the above telephone number day
or night, telling them that you wish to use the Rochdale Municipal
Funeral Service.
Note: Our only involvement has been to negotiate the best price.
The actual funeral arrangements are carried out by the funeral
directors.
