School places
Putting schools admissions online is an essential part of
offering people choice in the way that they access local services.
All relevant forms on the September 2009 admissions will be
available on this page from September 2008.
On our secure online admissions website you will be able
to apply for admission to any local authority maintained
Rochdale school for primary reception or transfer to secondary
education.
Primary applications
Applications for admissions for the September 2008 year
closed in November 2007.
If your child is due to start primary school in September 2009
from September 2008 you will be able to either
- Apply online
- Print out, complete and return an application form to
Pupil Services Team or to the first preference school directly
- Get an application form from the Pupil Services Team or the
school direct.
Secondary applications
Applications for admissions for the September 2008 year
closed in October 2007.
If your child is due to start secondary school in September 2009
and you live within the Rochdale borough boundary from
September 2008 you will be able
to either:
- Apply online
- Print out, complete and return an application form to
Pupil Services Team or to the first preference school directly
- Get an application form from the Pupil Services Team or the
school direct.
If you are applying for a secondary school place and do not live
in Rochdale you must apply to the Local Authority that you pay your
Council Tax to even if you wish to apply for a school in Rochdale.
Your home Local Authority will pass on your request for a place to
Rochdale for consideration in line with the co-ordinated admissions
scheme.
It is important that you carefully read the relevant information
on these web pages or in the Transfer to Secondary Education
booklet before applying.

September admissions 2008
Allocation letters will be posted 3 March 2008 for secondary
applications and on 14 March 2008 for reception class
applications. If you have not yet submitted an application,
you can either contact the Pupil Services Team on 01706 925982 for
an information booklet and application form or download them from
the links below.
Please note that applications received at this stage will be
treated as late applications and will only be considered after
notifications have been sent out.
