Become a school governor

The role of a school governor is exciting, challenging and rewarding. School governors are people from the school’s community who wish to make a positive contribution to children’s education. Anyone with an interest in education can be a governor, subject to certain restrictions.

School governors represent the largest volunteer force in the country with about one per cent of the adult population serving in this capacity at any one time.
