Travelling expenses
Students aged 16-19 can get help with the cost of home to school
or college travelling expenses if you live more than two miles
away from the school/college. You must be a full time student and
either you or you or your parent/guardian must receive either
Income Support or Job Seeker’s Allowance (Income Based), or receive
Working Tax Credit and the household income is less than
£14,600.
Refunds of travelling expenses are made at the end of each term
to eligible students. To apply obtain a copy of Form F1 from
Hopwood Hall College or contact us 01706 925125 for a form to be
posted to you. Ask for Form F1.
All students who travel by bus to school or college should
obtain a Scholar’s Permit from Greater Manchester Passenger
Transport Executive (GMPTE). The Scholar’s Permit allows payment of
cheaper fares to school or college. Obtain an application form from
school or college or telephone: 0161 242 6314 for a form to be
posted to you.
