School transport
Travelling expenses
Students aged 16-19 can currently get help with the cost of home
to school or college travelling expenses if you live more than
three miles away from the school or college. You must be a
full-time student and either you or your parent/guardian must
receive either Income Support or Job Seeker’s Allowance (Income
Based) or receive Working Tax Credit and the household income is
less than £16,190.
Refunds of travelling expenses are made at the end of the
academic year to eligible students. To apply, obtain a copy of
Form F1 from 16-19.Transport@rochdale.gov.uk
to request that a form be emailed to you.
All students who travel by bus to school or college should
obtain a Scholar’s Permit from Transport for Greater Manchester
(TfGM). The Scholar’s Permit allows payment of cheaper fares to
school or college. Obtain an application form from school or
college or telephone 0161 242 6314 for a form to be posted to
you.
