Meanwood Sure Start Children’s Centre
Meanwood Sure Start Children's Centre is attached to Meanwood
Primary School Nursery Class on Churchill Street. We offer a
welcoming and safe environment for families with children aged 0 –
5 years and offer excellent indoor and outdoor play
facilities.
Sessions include:
- Midwife support with Ante Natal, Post Natal Services
and evening Parent Craft sessions.
- Health support with Breastfeeding Support Group and
Baby Massage Sessions.
- Employment support through Employment Links – book your
appointment at the Centre
- Monthly evening and afternoon - dads pop-in and
play
- Mummy Fit for new mums, with a qualified
instructor.
- A variety of courses throughout the year, with crèche
provided.
- A structured stay and play for childminders and their
children, with access to all the centre’s equipment including
indoor and outdoor safe play facilities.
There is a warm welcome to mums, dads, grandparents,
childminders and those who look after children aged 0 –
5. We provide a variety of sessions for children
with parents, and parents only, including an active parent forum
who have been involved in community projects and decisions on
training and courses held at the centre.
There are a wide range of sessions available at the centre
suitable for babies and children of all ages and abilities
including play sessions for children to develop their social,
emotional, intellectual and physical skills, baby fun, stay and
plays, messy monsters and making music.
Many more fun, family friendly activities are also held within
the community these include Little Swimmers at Oulder Hill Baths
and music time at Spotland Library. Further sessions and

Baby LifeCheck
The Baby LifeCheck is an
online questionnaire from the NHS to assist parents with
babies aged 5 - 8 months old. The questionnaire covers a
range of subjects about health and development and offers top tips
and advice along the way. The questionnaire is confidential
and takes about 20 minutes to complete. Baby LifeCheck is
available at Meanwood Children’s Centre. Seek assistance from the
centre staff if required. Please see below for more
