Situated alongside Castleton Primary School on Melville Street, Castleton Sure Start Children's Centre offers a convenient and safe environment for families with children aged 0 – 5 years.  There are excellent indoor and outdoor play facilities.  Throughout the week, there are a variety of sessions for children with parents, sessions for parents only including an active parents forum and play sessions for children to develop their own social skills.

Typical sessions include:

  • Jumping Jacks - Physical fun with ribbons, scarves and soft materials for 18 months upwards
  • Baby Massage - Quality time for you and baby to develop baby’s senses
  • Maths and English training for anyone wishing to brush up their skills
  • Breast Feeding Support group for parents to give and receive support in relation to breast feeding
  • Stay & Play sessions planned around a variety of themes which encourage parents and children to play and learn together and meet other families

There is a warm welcome to mums, dads, grandparents and carers with children aged 0 – 5 years. Older brother and sisters are welcome to join sessions which are offered after school and during school holidays.  Childminders and those who look after children are also very welcome.  Castleton enjoy trips out and took part in Castleton Carnival where they won a trophy for the best walking float.

There are many more fun, family friendly activities throughout the week which can found on the full timetable of activities below.
