We know that rising gas and electricity prices are a real
concern. We have the power to reduce energy bills if we join
together to look for a better deal.
Those of you that missed out on your chance to take a share of a
£3m energy savings scheme, don't worry, you have another
opportunity to get better deals.
In January, more than 35,000 people signed up to for the GM Fair
Energy scheme when it was first launched. People across Greater
Manchester saved a total of £3m across their bills with some
slashing their bills by up to £900 a year.

How does it work?
On 9 April 2013 an online energy auction will take
place with UK energy providers. They will be offered the chance to
supply people across Greater Manchester who have signed up to the
scheme.
Each provider will bid for your custom by offering their
cheapest energy deal. The best-value provider will then be chosen
and that deal offered to all those who signed up to the scheme.
Once you receive your offer you can decide whether to accept or
decline.
The more households that sign up, the better deal we get for
everyone.
No obligation
There is no obligation to switch providers. After the auction
you will be given a new personal offer price for your energy for
the next year - at this point you can choose to sign up to the
scheme if it works for you. It's hassle free and there's nothing to
lose!
