How to pay your Council Tax
There are various ways to pay your Council Tax. Find
out more ...
Direct Debit - the easy way to pay
Direct Debit is the easy way to pay. In most cases when you sign
up for Direct Debit your details can be taken with just one call
to our contact centre.
Online payment
You can use your credit or debit card to pay your bill.
Standing order
We accept payment by standing order, but it doesn't have as
many advantages as Direct Debit and your payment still has to be
received by the tenth of the month. If you want to pay
by this method, please call our contact centre on 0845
121 2970 for details.
By telephone and debit card
To use this option, phone our automated payments line on
01706 926180 with your debit card and Council Tax reference number
to hand. Lines are open 24 hours, 7 days a week.
Payment by post
You can send your payment directly to us. Please make your
cheque or postal order payable to Rochdale MBC and send it to the
address above.
Please ensure that you write your Council Tax account number on
the back of your cheque or postal order. Please do not send cash
through the post.
Payment at post offices and paypoint outlets
You can pay your Council Tax at any Post Office or PayPoint
outlet, but you must always present your bill or document with
a barcode on when making your payment. It usually takes
up to 3 working days for us to receive your payment. If you pay by
cheque at the Post Office then your cheque should be made payable
to ' Post Office Ltd' . This service is
free.
