The Township Office team works to support the Township
Councillors by:
- Listening to what the public has to say about local
issues.
- Liaising with all parts of the Council responsible for local
services to ensure they are what people want.
- Liaising with other partners, such as the Police and Health
Service.
- Improving the democratic process by providing information and
helping to make sure decisions are open and accountable.
- Administering the Township fund which is spent on local
priorities.
- Facilitating and supporting Ward Forums and Local
Partnerships.
Township staff are available to meet individuals and
groups, and as part of their work try to ensure that any comments
and views are given consideration.
The Township Office seeks to encourage and assist community
input into local decision-making. This is being achieved through
the Heywood Township Ward Forum and Local Partnerships, which
look at issues that directly affect people's lives such as housing,
the environment, family support and leisure provision. All Heywood
residents are welcome to attend Township meetings, so if you want
to be kept informed and engaged in matters affecting your town,
contact the Township Office.
