Tenders and contracts
The Council is keen to establish and maintain economical,
efficient and effective purchasing arrangements in respect of all
goods and services required within the Authority.
The Council's goal is to secure best value for money, and we are
always happy to discuss our contracts and purchasing arrangements
with potential suppliers in order to achieve this.
In all dealings with suppliers and potential suppliers, the
Authority's officers will do their best to preserve the highest
standards of honesty, integrity, impartially and objectivity and to
treat all suppliers in a professional and even-handed way.

How to find out about council contracts
In general, the Authority's expenditure will be broadly split
into two distinctive categories:
Goods, equipment, materials and services
Purchase arrangements/contracts will be organised by the
Corporate Procurement Service for Council Services.
Civil engineering and building works contracts including
painting, plumbing and electrical work
Works contracts are arranged by the Facilities Management
Service - Architects Division.
