European funding
European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)

Money from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) is
available for economic regeneration projects promoted by the public
sector. This includes local authorities, colleges, voluntary and
community sector organisations and other public bodies.
Over the past two years, three Local Area Partnerships have
approved over 30 projects which have invested £3.5M of European
money into the local area. These projects help people from the most
deprived areas of Rochdale, Heywood and Middleton into work, as
well as enhancing the local environment and improving training and
employment facilities.
Sample projects include Real Deal in Middleton helping local
people into work, the Heywood Magic Trust at Heywood Market and a
complete refurbishment of the Guinness Trust owned site at Argyle
Parade.
There is still funding available. To apply contact the External
Funding Team at Renaissance House.
