Funeral - memorial construction
If you are considering a memorial at Rochdale or Middleton
crematorium the following information may be helpful. Please
contact us if you require any further information or if you would
like us to forward you an application form for any of the following
memorials.
Rochdale Crematorium
Memorial niche
Cremated remains may be placed in an urn and sealed behind an
inscribed stone tablet into a columbarium wall. All niche memorials
will take up to 2 urns and 2 inscriptions and are available for a
lease period of 20 years (renewable).
The actual cost of the niche will depend on the cost and type of
inscription you choose to have on the stone tablet. However, as a
guide, the approximate cost of the lease, urn and first inscription
would be around £350 (unfortunately there is a
long waiting list).
Memorial stone vase
Memorial stone vases which include an inscribed stone plaque and
flower container are available in the garden of remembrance.
Memorial vases are fixed at ground level along a path edge and are
available for a lease period of 10 years (renewable). Cost
£327.
Memorial wall plaque
Memorial wall plaques are available to be fixed to the top of a
stone wall in the garden of remembrance. The memorial wall contains
numerous flower containers which may be used to place fresh
flowers. Memorial wall plaques are available for a lease period of
10 years (renewable). Cost £84.
Childrens` memorial garden memorial plaque
A memorial garden is situated within the cemetery grounds which
contains a dedicated memorial in memory of all our children. Vases
are available to place fresh flowers. Memorial plaques may be
placed within the garden either on a bench or stone plinth and are
available for a 10 year lease period (renewable). Cost
£84.
Rose bush memorial
A rose bush and plaque memorial is available (see note
below) within the garden of remembrance for a lease period of
10 years (renewable). Cost £91.
Note: Please note that all available rose bushes are currently
leased. We therefore need to operate a waiting list for this scheme
and it may take several months or more before a rose bush becomes
available. If you wish to apply for a rose bush and plaque
please contact us and we will place your name on the waiting
list.
Please note that cremated remains cannot be buried or scattered
with the following memorials – Memorial stone vase, Memorial wall
plaque and Rose bush memorial. Cremated remains may be buried in
the gardens near to the memorial.
Middleton Crematorium
Memorial stone vase
Memorial stone vases, which include an inscribed stone plaque
and flower container, are available. Memorial vases are situated at
ground level around the garden of remembrance and are available for
a lease period of 10 years (renewable). Cost
£327.
Bronze memorial plaque
Bronze memorial plaques are also situated at ground level; they
are fastened to a kerb surround at the front of Middleton
crematorium. The lease is also for a period of 10 years
(renewable). Cost £109.
Please note that cremated remains cannot be buried or scattered
with this memorial. Cremated remains may be scattered in the
gardens near to the memorial. With this scheme there is no
provision for the placing of cut flowers and plants and so on
behind the available bronze plaque spaces. All cut flowers should
be placed in the book of remembrance room.
