Data protection and freedom of information
Rochdale Council is committed to open and transparent government
and believes that making information available to the public is
central to the democratic process.
From 1 January 2005 you have new rights under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000. Those rights include access to a huge amount
of information held by around 70000 organisations, including local
councils like ours.
Councils now have approved plans for publishing all their
information.

Data protection
You have the right to know what information the Council holds
about you on computer, and to have it corrected if it is wrong.
