Vulnerable adults - procedures and practice guidelines
“No Secrets” is a report issued by the Home Office and
Department of Health which offers guidance on developing and
implementing multi-agency policies and procedures to protect
vulnerable adults from abuse. As a result Local Authorities have
developed their own vulnerable adult protection policies and
procedures which are now being launched.
This document outlines police action to be taken where we are
told about potential abuse of vulnerable adults. It should be read
in conjunction with our other policy and procedure
documents.
These Adult Protection Guidelines are under-pinned by the ADSS
Standards (Safeguarding Adults: A National Framework of Standards
for Good Practice and Outcomes in Adult Protection Work: October
