Local area agreements
The council and its partners have agreed a set of priorities
with government. These priorities are contained in our Local Area
Agreement (LAA).
A Local Area Agreement is a contract between us, our
partners and central government to
deliver against the priorities of local people. It
involves all partners in the borough agreeing to
work together to find better solutions to local issues.
LAA
s operate over
a three year time scale and involve negotiations with the
regional Government Office acting on behalf of government as a
whole. They are not designed to be static documents and can
be refreshed every year to ensure that they reflect emerging
priorities.
Our
LAA
document is
available on the Improvement and Development Agency website.

Performance management of the
LAA
will be done via the new
Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA). This will measure 198
indicators - including those identified as priorities in our
LAA
document.
