Councillors declaration of interest
Councillors are required by law to declare certain interests
when they become a Councillor. These interests include:
- The name of their employer
- Details of any land or premises which they occupy or own within
the borough
- Interests in companies and securities which operate in the
borough
- Membership of bodies as an appointed representative of the
Council
- Membership of local voluntary or community organisations in
receipt of funding from the Council
Under the Council’s Constitution, Councillors are also required
to declare any gifts or hospitality which they accept over the
value of £25 and any offer of a gift or hospitality, whether
accepted or not.
Details of each Councillor’s Declarations of Interest and
acceptances of gifts and hospitality are maintained on statutory
registers and can be inspected during normal office hours at
Rochdale Town Hall.
For questions about these registers, please contact the
Democratic Support Manager using the contact details to the
right.
