Citizens Surveys

We currently carry out Citizens Surveys each year, normally two per year, however when we have to take part in national surveys like the Place Survey we only do one.

The Citizens surveys superseded the Citizens Panel because the number of responses we were receiving from panel members was decreasing with each survey. This was despite refreshing membership on a regular basis. The Citizens survey uses a random sample of 5,000 which generally results in a return rate of about 20% or 1,000 surveys. This can vary depending on the subjects covered by surveys.

So far we have carried out 16 surveys including those using the Citizens Panel, all under the title “Ask and Act”.

The results of more recent surveys are available here:

2008 Citizens Survey
2008 Place Survey
Local Area Agreement Baseline Survey
Smoking Survey

If you have any questions about the panel please contact the Community Affiars team, using the contact details in the top right hand column.
