Councillors are elected by local people to take the most
important decisions affecting how we serve the 200,000 people
who live in the area. Rochdale MBC has 60 Councillors
representing 20 Wards.
The political make up of the Council is Labour 32; Conservative
18; Liberal Democrat 10.
There is a Labour Cabinet of 6 Members.

The council is made up of 60 locally elected councillors who
make decisions on how to provide local services on behalf of local
people.
Citizens have a right to be involved in local decision-making.
Decisions about local issues are made in meetings which are open to
the public. You can get involved in decision making by:
