Milkstone, Deeplish and Newbold SPD - June 2010
This consultation has
now finished.
Rochdale Borough Council with other partners and stakeholders
are working together to regenerate the Milkstone, Deeplish and
Newbold area which is one of the Council's Sustainable Communities
areas.
A draft Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) has been prepared
by the Council to:
- Convey the vision for this area as an important part of the
town, with unique features and opportunities that can assist in
developing its strategically important role between the town centre
and Kingsway Business Park;
- Provide advice and interpretation of policies within the
Unitary Development Plan and emerging Core Strategy and how they
relate to this area;
- Promote the area to investors and developers in order to bring
about high quality development that can help regenerate the
area;
- Provide a framework which will help decision making by funding
agencies about bids and schemes that may come forward;
- Set a context for agreeing priorities for regeneration,
including further masterplanning and more detailed site planning /
development briefs;
- Be a material consideration in the determination of planning
applications for development in the area; and
- Support compulsory purchase where necessary.
This document is a draft for consultation with the public and
stakeholders and it will be revised in response to consultation
before being adopted by the Council.
We want your views on the document, its purpose, format and
content.
