Greater Manchester Joint Waste DPD - Publication Stage consultation
This consultation has now finished.
The next stage of consultation as part of the preparation of
a Waste Plan for Greater Manchester is the Publication stage.
At this stage the feedback received at earlier stages of
consultation, national and local policies and technical evidence
gathered throughout the preparation have been brought together to
develop the final policies and site allocations to guide waste
development in Greater Manchester until 2027.
The intention of issuing the Publication version is to allow for
representations to be made in connection with issues of soundness
(i.e. whether the Waste Plan is justified, whether it is effective
and whether it is consistent with national policy) and legal
compliance only.
The Planning Inspectorate has issued guidance entitled 'Local
Development Frameworks - Examining Development Plan
Documents: Procedural Guidance' (August 2009). In the Annex to this
document (page 42) the guidance provides advice on the scope and
content of representations which can be made during consultation on
the Publication Waste Plan. This document can be found on the
Planning Inspectorate's web site:
The Planning Inspectorate
Consultation Period
The Publication stage of the Waste Plan will be issued for
consultation for 6 weeks between 1 November
2010 to 13 December 2010.
