Wardleworth and Hamer Area Forum
Wardleworth & Hamer Area Forum is a public meeting attended
by residents and local organisations that meets bi-monthly.
Representatives from the Police, Council and other agencies attend
to respond to concerns raised. Your local Councillors are also
present.
You don't have to be involved in a group to come along - just a
resident of the Wardleworth and Hamer area, who wants to know
what's happening in your area and is interested in how we can
improve your services and surroundings.
What the forum does
- Receives reports and updates on what is planned in the area
such as road works and developments.
- Hears updates from the Police and other agencies on what they
are targeting in the area such as youth nuisance and
prostitution.
- Residents raise issues on problems in their area such as youth
nuisance; pot holes in the road; traffic problems, off road biking,
litter and flytipping. (It may take time but we will make every
effort to tackle your problems).
- Consider projects for the best use of available funding such as
the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund and HMR funding.
So don't just complain about your area to your friends. Why not
come along to the meeting and share your issues with us all - you
never know there may be an answer!
All minutes from the forums are reported to the Township
Committee meetings. The area forums are considered to be a way of
taking the process of local involvement to a very local level, and
are seen as an informal extension of the Township Committee
meetings. Issues raised at the forums can therefore be raised again
at the Township Committee if needed. Contact the Rochdale
Township Office for dates of future meetings.

By sending representatives to Rochdale Area Partnership, the
forum also provides an opportunity to voice opinions to the Local
Strategic Partnership, which is shaping the future of the whole
Borough, and all of its services for the next 20 years.
