Rochdale Township Forums and Groups
The work of the Rochdale Township Committee is supported by a
number of forums, groups and sub committees.
Area Forums
Areas forums within the Rochdale Township where you can have
your say about community issues that concern you are:

Rochdale Area Partnership
Rochdale Area Partnership (RAP) is made up of
community representatives from each of Rochdale Township's area
forums/geographic areas. It has two purposes:
- To select someone from the group to attend the Local Strategic
Partnership (LSP) and represent Rochdale as a geographical area,
thus ensuring that Rochdale's voice is heard. The current
representative from Milkstone and Deeplish Area Forum has raised
issues including policing youth dispersal areas, street drinking,
and asbestos at Turner Brothers Asbestos.
- To bring together people from different areas of the Township
to share concerns, increase community cohesion and find potential
solutions.
The Local Strategic Partnership is the meeting where people from
all of the different agencies that work in the Borough (for
example, the police, health services, businesses and voluntary
sector) meet up to plan how to improve the Borough according to the
communities' priorities. To identify these priorities the
Local Strategic Partnership produced the community strategy 'Pride
of Place'.
Rochdale Area Partnership links to the Local Strategic
Partnership:
- The people who attend Rochdale Area Partnership decide on the
questions that the Rochdale representatives will raise at the Local
Strategic Partnership.
- They will also decide if they want the Local Strategic
Partnership to receive reports or presentations on specific areas
of work or issues of concern.
- The Rochdale Area Partnership monitors the Local Strategic
Partnership's progress and work on 'Pride of Place' from a Rochdale
perspective.
- Rochdale Area Partnership receives reports, both written and
verbal, from the Local Strategic Partnership.
- Rochdale Area Partnership will eventually be able to make
recommendations on specific pieces of work and start prioritising
schemes at a local level on behalf of the Local Strategic
Partnership.

Rochdale Township Planning Sub Committee
Rochdale Township Planning Sub Committee makes
decisions on planning applications in accordance with the Council’s
approved Development Control Scheme.
Rochdale Township Devolved Funding Sub Committee
Each Township Committee has its own Township
fund. Decisions relating to the expenditure of this budget
are made by the Devolved Funding Sub Committee. Meetings take
place on a quarterly basis at local venues.
Rochdale Crime and Disorder Partnership
Rochdale Crime and Disorder Partnership meets
four times a year and brings together all the agencies responsible
for reducing crime.
