Pennines Township Forums and Groups
The work of the Pennines Township Committee is supported by a
number of forums, groups and sub committees.
Area Forums
Areas forums within the Pennines Township where you can have
your say about community issues that concern you are:
Pennines Township Planning Sub Committee
Pennines Township Planning Sub Committee makes decisions on
planning applications in accordance with the Council's approved
Development Control Scheme.
Pennines Township Grants Sub Committee
Pennines Township Grants Sub Committee distributes money to
local groups and projects each year with applications considered on
merit. Meetings take place on a quarterly basis.
Friends of Hollingworth Lake
Friends of Hollingworth Lake is a group of local residents,
users, visitors and local businesses who get together with the aim
of developing new and improving existing facilities. The Lake
Country Park is an important wildlife area and attracts many
thousands of visitors throughout the year.

Littleborough Civic Trust
Littleborough Civic Trust is a voluntary body affiliated to the
National Civic Trust. It was established in 1971 and exists
to conserve and enhance the environment of Littleborough. New
Members are always welcome.
The forthcoming meetings in 2008 are: 12
February, 11 March, 8 April, 13 May, 10 June, 8 July, 12 August, 9
September, 14 October and 11 November. All meetings are held
in Littleborough Coach House and start at 7.30pm.

LEAF
Littleborough Events and Activities Forum
(LEAF) is a group of people representing various local community
groups like the Lions, the Civic Trust, Friends of Hare Hill
Park and the Quilters. Currently, the group is supporting
Rochdale Morris with organising the Rushbearing Festival which will
take place on 26 and 27 July 2008.

Wardle Society
Wardle Society is a group of volunteers who have an interest in
local issues in Wardle and aim to maintain and improve their local
area. New members are very welcome.

Milnrow and Newhey Tenants Association

Milnrow and Newhey Tenants Association is a community
association where local people in Milnrow and Newhey come along to
discuss issues of concern in their local area. Ward
Councillors attend and the police to help address problems and
progress issues with the Council.

As well as the community and voluntary groups that flourish in
Pennines there are also many and varied activities for young
people, these include sports, dancing, drama and uniformed groups,
like Scouts and Brownies. Stuff To Do is an annual project
co-ordinated by Pennines Township Office to compile information on
and promote activities for young people.
