Safeguarding Adults - Procedures and Practice Guidelines

No Secrets is a report issued by the Home Office and Department of Health that offers guidance on developing and implementing multi-agency policies and procedures to protect vulnerable adults from abuse. As a result, local authorities have developed their own vulnerable adult protection policies and procedures which are now being launched.

This document outlines the police action to be taken when we are told about potential abuse of vulnerable adults. It should be read in conjunction with our other policy and procedure documents.

These adult protection guidelines are under-pinned by the ADSS Standards (Safeguarding Adults: A National Framework of Standards for Good Practice and Outcomes in Adult Protection Work: October 2005).
