The council and the recognised trade unions have agreed this grievance procedure.
It's recognised that grievances may arise in a variety of forms. Some may be of a simple nature; others may be of fundamental importance. It's hoped that, wherever possible, grievances can be settled informally, without recourse to the formal stage of the procedure. The procedure does not apply to grading issues.
This procedure applies to all employees of the council including staff within the School Support Service, Non-Delegated Schools and the School Meals Service in Locally Managed Community, Controlled and Voluntary Aided Schools. It doesn't pertain to teachers and other support staff in Locally Managed Community, Controlled, Voluntary Aided and Foundation Schools.
