Apprenticeship performance

Our target is for 2.3 per cent of our employees to be apprentices. 

The government set this target for all public sector organisations that employ more than 250 members of staff.

2019-2020 apprenticeship data

Between 1 April 2019 - 31 March 2020, we had:

  • 702 new employees
  • 71 new apprentices
  • 249 total apprentices
  • 6,052 total employees on 31 March 2020

Outcome: 10.11 per cent of our new employees were apprentices. 4.23 per cent of our employees were apprentices.

2017-2018 apprenticeship data

Between 1 April 2017 - 31 March 2018, we had:

  • 1,342 new employees.
  • 135 new apprentices.

Outcome: 10.06 per cent of our new employees were apprentices. We exceeded the target of 2.3 per cent by 7.76 per cent.

2018 apprenticeship data

On 31 March 2018, we had:

  • 5,765 employees
  • 147 apprentices

Outcome: 2.55 per cent of our employees were apprentices. We exceeded the target of 2.3% by 0.25 per cent.

2017 apprenticeship data

On 31 March 2017, we had:

  • 5,865 employees
  • 47 apprentices

Outcome: 2.3 per cent of our employees were apprentices. We met the target of 2.3 per cent.
