Town centres - closed circuit television - CCTV
CCTV (closed circuit television) uses cameras to monitor the
inside or outside of premises.
CCTV
can help
by:
- Deterring theives
- Watching remote areas, or more than one area at once
- Enabling premises to be watched in safety
- Helping police to identify and prosecute intruders - although
good quality equipment is needed.
You must follow strictly the Information Commissioner's code of
practice when using
CCTV
if video evidence is to be
used in prosecution.
