Libraries - information services
Library staff can search a wide range of library materials in
response to user enquiries. We can also request
photocopies from serials and periodicals. The more details you
provide, the easier and quicker we can supply it.
If the item you want is available from a Rochdale Council library but out on loan to another borrower,
then we can reserve it for you. Alternatively you can contact us to
reserve an item, using our contact details to the right.
Each library in the Rochdale borough area has a reference
collection. The items in these collections are for use in the
library and are not available for loan. Three main libraries -
Heywood, Middleton and the Wheatsheaf - have Reference Libraries
with larger collections and a wider range of facilities.
As well as holding the largest reference collection in the
borough, the Wheatsheaf Library also holds a reserve stock of older
reference books of historical or local interest
There are also lots of other sources of information in the
library, including the World-Wide Web, leaflets and community
boards. We also have over 100,000 non-fiction books available for
loan to members of the library covering philosophy to Antarctica
and all points in between.
