Single equality scheme
This Single Equality Scheme brings together our
Race Equality Scheme and our Disability Equality Scheme.
It also states how we propose to meet the general and specific
requirements under the gender equality duty.
Promoting equality
The Single Equality Scheme shows how Rochdale Borough Council
will eliminate unlawful discrimination and harassment and promote
equality of opportunity amongst disadvantaged groups. This scheme
also outlines how we will encourage disadvantaged groups to
participate more in public life and be involved in influencing the
decisions and services that affect their lives.
The involvement of people in the scheme will continue,
particularly in the further development and monitoring of the
scheme and the associated action plans.
