Health and safety

Anyone employing people must comply with health and safety law, notify the enforcing authority (the council or the Health and Safety Executive) and provide health and safety information to their employees.

Working Time regulations

Advice about the Working Time Regulations is available from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) or the ACAS website.

Employing disabled people and the Disability Discrimination Act

Information about employing disabled people, and the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 is available from the Equality Direct website or the Disability Rights Commission.

The Homework Development Project offers support and guidance to homeworkers and seekers of homework on:

We will make home visits on request. Our homeworking officers speak Urdu and Punjabi as well as English.
