Sure Start children's centres offer a range of support and
services including:
- Early learning and childcare - Affordable,
quality early learning and childcare for all families.
- Employment and training - Links to training
and employment opportunities for families with children under five
years old.
- Family support - Home visits, support for
parents, information and guidance on parenting and specialist
support for families.
- Health services - Anti natal advice, midwife
sessions, dental care, speech therapists, breastfeeding, health and
safety and help with healthy lifestyles.
- Parent involvement - Parents can get involved
in running the centres and have a say in the kinds of services
offered.
Your local centres
There are currently 19 operational Sure Start Children’s
Centres in the borough of Rochdale. Each centre is well
equipped with indoor and outdoor play facilities, meeting rooms for
parents and friendly staff to support families.
How do I access services?
Each centre produces a monthly timetable of activities, run by
qualified professionals. You can see each timetable for this
month on the individual Children's Centre page.
Parents and carers are also encouraged to get involved with
their local centre in parents' groups and forums where
parents' views are taken into account and form part of the service
provision.
