Tenders and contracts
We are keen to have economical, efficient and effective
purchasing arrangements for all goods and services we need.
We try to get best value for money, and we are always happy
to talk about our contracts and purchasing arrangements with
potential suppliers to achieve this.
We will do our best to show the highest standards of
honesty, integrity, impartially and objectivity and to treat all
suppliers in a professional and even-handed way.

In general, what we spend is split into two categories:
Goods, equipment, materials and services: Our
Corporate Procurement Service organise purchase arrangements and
contracts through The Chest.
Works, civil engineering and minor works
contracts: Impact Partnership arrange all works, civil
engineering and minor works contracts including painting, plumbing
and electrical work. They invite tenders or
quotations from time to time.

As part of our ongoing commitment to increase openness and
transparency we've published details of spend equal to or
over £500 made to our suppliers.
Cabinet
Approved tender schedule 2011-2013
The above spreadsheet shows all scheduled
tenders approved by cabinet in September 2011. This will be updated
annually but suppliers are advised to register on the Chest to
ensure they receive notifications of all contract opportunities.
For example, the Chest is also used to send out request for quotes
that do not require Cabinet approval.
