Regeneration
The Borough is at the forefront of partnership working on
regeneration bringing together a wide range of organisations to
co-operate for the benefit of the area. The Rochdale Borough
Economic Partnership is committed to improving the Borough’s image
and the quality of life for residents. It has been successful in
attracting significant amounts of investment in a number of
ways.
Three successful bids for money from the Government’s Single
Regeneration Budget have resulted in tens of millions in public and
private investment being put into areas of the Borough most in need
of regeneration. The inner Rochdale Single Regeneration Budet 5
(SRB5) is branded as “Revitalising inner Rochdale” and has been
positively seen in the community as bringing noticable improvements
to the quality of life of Rochdale residents.
Millions in European funding are also being used to help
overcome the obstacles keeping some local people out of work and to
support the development of small and medium-sized businesses. The
funding is helping to create jobs, support the start-up, survival
and growth of new businesses and train local people to meet the
needs of local businesses.
