Claims against the council
All claims for compensation as a result of alleged neglect by
the Council or its employees are dealt with by the insurance
section.
There is no automatic entitlement to compensation for injuries
or property damage following an incident in or on property owned by
Rochdale Borough Council. A number of factors have to be considered
to establish whether the Council has been negligent and are legally
liable. All claims will be fully investigated.
The insurance section’s task is to ensure that all Council
assets are adequately and effectively insured to cover the
Council’s legal liability in the event of a claim.
