Listed buildings and conservation areas

For demolition of dwellings that are listed buildings, are within the curtilage of a listed building or are within a conservation area,  Listed Building Consent or Conservation Area Consent is required.

You should submit the following forms and display the notice on site if you wish to demolish dwellings that are not listed buildings, are not within the curtilage of a listed building and are not within a conservation area.  You only need to apply for consent to demolish if you are not proposing to redevelop the site at the same time.

The fee for this type of application is £70.00

When intending to demolish any building, a Section 80 Notice of Intended Demolition must be submitted to our Property Services Section.

You should submit your intentions in writing using the form below, with a location plan of the building and adjoining streets. Allow a minimum of six weeks prior to work commencing. In return you should receive a Section 81 notice outlining the councils requirements in relation to your proposed demolition project.

Statutory undertakers should also be notified in order that they may arrange for their services to be properly terminated.
