The Trading Standards Team provides basic guidance to businesses to help them comply with Trading Standards legislation. If you are a consumer and have a complaint about goods or services which you've purchased you should report the problem to the Citizens Advice Consumer Service.
The Citizens Advice Consumer Service also handles initial telephone enquiries, on behalf of Rochdale Trading Standards, for business advice on products you sell or manufacture in the borough or Rochdale.
Requirements for businesses
All business and traders are required by law to ensure that they are not in breach of trading standards and we can carry out investigations to check if they comply, specifically in the following areas:

Scams, rogue traders and doorstep crime
Although many cold callers are legitimate sales people, it is a common way for rogue traders to scam unsuspecting customers into handing over their money or personal details.
