Housing - information and advice
The Advice Service provide free and confidential advice and
assistance to Rochdale residents about their housing rights.
We can advise:
- Owner occupiers
- Rochdale Boroughwide Housing and Housing Association
tenants
- Private tenants
- Landlords
We can advise and assist with:
- Disrepair
- Tenancy agreements/security of tenure
- Mortgage/rent arrears
- Possession proceedings/notice to quit
- Harassment and unlawful eviction
- Getting deposits back at the end of the tenancy
- Housing benefit and other benefit entitlement
- Relationship breakdown
We have specialist workers who
- Represent residents of the Borough at County Court
proceedings.
- Provide training on housing issues to voluntary sector

right hand column, about the help we can provide.
We can give you general advice about welfare benefits, debt or
housing issues via our Advice Line. If the problem is
complicated then we can make you an appointment at one of our
advice sessions, see related pages for a list of venues throughout
the borough. If we think that your case will need ongoing
work then it will be allocated to a specific worker.
