Civil emergencies - Flooding

The Environment Agency is the lead agency in relation to river flooding.  If you live in an area which is prone to flooding, or have a business in such an area, you can register with the Environment Agency and be provided with advance warning of any flood danger. They are also able to offer advice on how to minimise the effects of flooding.

You are able to check the status of any flood alerts with the Environment Agency Floodline.

Preparing for a flood

The Environmental Agency will help businesses and the public to properly prepare for floods.

The following link to the Health Protection Agency should provide sufficient information and advice on what measures should be taken to reduce these risks.
