Civil emergencies - Flooding
The Environment Agency is the lead agency in
relation to river flooding. If you live in an area which is
prone to flooding, or have a business in such an area, you can
register with the Environment Agency and be provided with advance
warning of any flood danger. They are also able to offer advice on
how to minimise the effects of flooding.
You are able to check the status of any flood
alerts with the Environment Agency Floodline.
The

Preparing for a flood
The Environmental Agency will help businesses and the
public to properly prepare for floods.
In the event of a flood
There may be risks of ill-health due to water-borne infections,
also potential risks from chemical contamination and the
physchological trauma caused by the flooding.
